Did you know that your library has thousands of ebooks, audiobooks and magazines available for free on your computer, smartphone or tablet? Come visit us on Saturday, March 28th and find out how easy it is to access a world of downloadable books and magazines!

Mike Gershbein from Very Smart People will conduct a class from 1:30 to 2:30 in which he will demonstrate how to use My Media Mall (downloadable ebooks and audiobooks), and Zinio (downloadable magazines), as well as e-readers and tablets (Pads, Kindles, and other similar devices). Or simply drop in between 2:30 and 5:00 when Mike will be there to offer one-on-one assistance to get your started reading with your Apple or Android device or computer. We want to make it easy for you to access your library's materials from your home, any time of day!ebooks

READ MAGAZINES ON YOUR OWN PERSONAL DEVICE

Highwood Library card holders now have the option of reading magazines in a variety of subject areas on their own electronic devices simply by following the link on the library's home page.  Once registered, patrons can either stream magazines to their device to read immediately or download the issue to read at a later time.  The service is free and cardholders have 14 titles to choose from. 

To get started, click on the Zinio button on the right side of the home page, follow the registration instructions, choose from any or all issues available and enjoy!

Volume I and Volume II of the Highwood Highlife cookbook - for sale at the library. Our cookbooks are perfect for hostess, teacher, new bride gifts, or just a treat for yourself.  Cook up some new recipes from local chefs and residents of surrounding communities, who have contributed over 800 recipes.  Book covers feature local artist  Babe Galassini's whimsical and colorful oils of fruit and flora.
-    Volume I (300 recipes) $20 and Volume 2 (500 recipes) $25, with a discount for multiple books.
