Highwood Library Awarded a $50,000 Construction Grant

We are pleased to announce that the library has been awarded a $50,000 Live and Learn Construction Grant by the Illinois State Library, which we will use to help pay for the renovations of our East Building.   The plans include the construction of a programming/community room, two multi-stall male and female bathrooms, a new ADA entrance, and a staff break room.  Highwood based architectural firm FWC Architects, Inc. prepared the plans and is in the process of preparing the Request for Proposal bid packet for qualified General Contractor bidders. We were one of 17 public libraries selected to receive funds, from a total of over $700,000, to help pay for essential capital improvements.
